Home / College Guide / Cultural Links--To Keep You Company in These Times

    College

Just thought Id put together a page of Cultural Links that you may or may not know about. This is what the Internet was meant for. Not what it has turned out to be. But that is a rumination for another post. This is a beginning. I will add more as I find them. An attempt to get you to the most via the fewest links. Note: What you find below are (with 1 possible exception) legitimate, non-copyright violation sites. Of course, sites like Youtube and Vimeo have an amazing amount of non-copyright, bootleg sites. I dont give those out to blog readers after one of my blogs was about 1/4 denuded within a week of me announcing it to a larger audience (and all I was doing was pointing). Well, that kind of stuff is just a whack-a-mole game, what I lost was all found again in a few months, and most of it had to do with an American sport (It is played with a foot and a ball) that is so poverty stricken that it cant allow its meager revenue stream (even in these times where revenue and profits have taken on a slightly different meaning than they had a short time ago) to be lessened by Youtube bootlegs. Needless to say, if you are looking for something that I havent pointed to, go to Youtube and search for it.

Chances are that you might find it. Chances are also that it will be a copyright violation. If your conscience can let you, watch it anyway. Some day the world will realize that knowledge and information are not commodities. Today is not that day, but perhaps a different consciousness about knowledge and information will be one of the few silver linings of the awful times we are now enduring. Stay safe and enjoy. Music Note: numbers listed are current as of April 4, 2020. Each company may have different rules about free performances. Some may require registration. Some may only be free in the sense that you get a free trial before a for fee subscription Read the rules of each that you are interested in---carefully. Some may only be available to those with specific IP Country numbers. Etc., Etc. In some cases, the curator of the list is not clear about this. Hopefully, there will be so many links that you will find the ones that are actually free, with no strings attached. NPR Live Virtual Concerts : Multiple Genres. Arranged by date and time.
