Candidate evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Candidate performs assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables within the control systems discipline. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Performs work, generally within one discipline, which involves the preparation, interpretation or review of calculations, specifications, plans, investigations, surveys, structures, systems or equipment with relatively few complex features.
2. Participates in one or more of the following:
1. Support department on how to use “Engineering & Design Application†such as SPI, BCS-TOOLS.
2. Provide basic user training on how to use engineering automation tools;
3. Performs project setup activities (database / application);
4. Perform project specific configuration & customization;
5. Setup & Configure Integration with other BSAPs (SR, DataBroker, iRING, SPF etc);
6. Provides database support on multiple projects;

Work closely with projects on engineering & design issues:
1. Helping user to obtain key information quickly and easily by providing consolidated reports, sub-reports
2. Provide automated validation based on project business rules
3. Provide automation solutions for routine tasks
4. Identify deficiencies and provide suggestion to project
5. Progress reports
8. Prepares database level interface with 3rd party “data exchangeâ€
9. Preparation or review of engineering studies and reports
10. Provide Project specific databases (SPI) for data handovers
11. Develops initiatives that target improvement of data manipulation techniques at Bechtel
12. Authors routine tasks for GBU support of BSAPs; providing a go-by for project use cases
13. Improves current state of BSAP usage to a future workflow state
14. Proposes methodologies to project personnel in troubleshooting and resolving BSAP issues
15. Understands the basic premise of integrating work processes and procedures across functions
1. Prepares letters for replies to vendor correspondence.
2. Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders. JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Candidate has good technical knowledge of instrumentation & Control Systems engineering and associated database management.
Good knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the particular engineering discipline. Prefer Engineering-in-Training (EIT) Certification.
Candidate has a recognized degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Management from an accredited college or university. Candidate should also have strong communication skills, computer skills and an indepth knowledge of Microsoft OS and Networking Security coupled with the following database strengths:
Strong Relational database knowledge;
Builds reports by linking, combining and manipulating multiple, complex datasets
Demonstrates an understand of object-oriented concept
Experience with creating / maintaining Oracle databases;
Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL language (a plus);
MS SQL database.
Experience of 5 to 8 years with practical work experience in design engineering and database management.
