WHO Des Moines Gov Reynolds receives recognition for tax policy, eyeing tax incentive changes in 2025 Zach Fisher Fri, December 6, 2024 at 1:09 AM UTC 1 min read ALTOONA, Iowa — A month before a new legislative session begins, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds received recognition for her work on tax policy in the last several years. The Linda S. Weindruch Award is given out every year by the Iowa Taxpayers Association. Members met at the Prairie Meadows Conference Center on Thursday and Friday. Gov. Reynolds received the award on Thursday afternoon, with the association recognizing tax policy and budgeting principles passed under her direction. She ended her speech indicating that the work is not over yet for changes to different types of state tax policy.

Debi Durham, the director of the Iowa Finance Authority and Iowa Economic Development Authority spoke a couple of hours before Gov. Reynolds. Durham outlined the economic goals for the state to the business leaders in attendance, indicating a change to the Research Development tax credit. “I think it is inevitable that there will be changes to the R&D. I think I can safely say that. I think, honestly, I think industry is going to like it a lot better. I think there is going to be some surety for you and I think it’s going to bring some comfort to the legislature that hasn’t been there,” said Durham. “We are proposing changes. And we are proposing changes to our incentives overall.” Latest Iowa News: NBCU Academy trains Roland-Story students to be journalists Gov Reynolds receives recognition for tax policy, eyeing tax incentive changes in 2025 Forecast: Cyclone travel outlook and look at the week ahead New Jersey semi driver charged after leading police on chase on I-80 in Iowa WHO 13 Farm Report: Thursday, December 5th Advertisement Advertisement Copyright 2024 Nexstar Media, Inc.
