Home / College Guide / Video: Rats Swarm Texas Apartment Complex - NewsBreak

    College

By Eric Ryan , 47 minutes ago No sir. No. Light that whole apartment complex on fire. If you can’t stand the sight of rodents, do not watch the video at the bottom of this article. It features footage that has gone viral among the residents of Houston, Texas. According to the lady interviewed in the video, rats have infested her apartment, and the landlord refuses to take any action about it. Allegedly. She also claims that she has had three fires in her unit and has requested that the owners fix the damage from those fires, and those requests seem like they’ve been dealt with. She says the owners patched the damage and replaced the oven, so I’m not really sure what the gripe is there. Texas Apartment Complex Overrun by Rats I have a suggestion for the rat problem. What you do is find a couple of stray cats, bring those bad boys over to the complex, and let them run amok. You will have one hundred percent fewer rodents by the end of the week. Easy peasy. And with rats showing up more often in the open, it’s clear the rodents aren’t too worried about keeping a low profile. This is Gumdrop, my wifes family cow, AKA steer, is enjoying dinner alone in the pasture. Unlike the rest of the Allison family, who, after having Gumdrop processed at a butcher shop years later, was never touched, and Grandpa never ate beef again. Photo by: Rudy Fernandez / Canva Planting by the Beginning Of The Moon Phases Planting by the phases of the moon it is believed that crops planted at certain moon phases grow faster and larger. Planting during the waxing moon phase its believed to encourage the growth of the crops. When planting during a waning moon It is believed to stunt the growth of the crops. Photo by: Rudy Fernandez / Canva Watermelon Harvested Before The 4th of July In the Old Farmers almanac, the article clearly states that watermelons are not good and ripe until the 4th of July. If eaten before then, they are bitter and your stomach will ache.

Since then its been a tradition in my wifes family to NOT eat watermelon until AFTER the 4th. Photo by: Rudy Fernandez / Canva Cow Laying Down and Birds Flying In Low A lot of farmers and ranchers believe that cows lay down in a field, it means that it is going rain. Furthermore, if birds come in flying low, it may be a sign of an Impending serious storm. Photo by: Rudy Fernandez / Canva Garlic Wards Off Pests, Diseases and Vampires Including garlic in your garden is believed by many farmers to ward off pests diseases and any unwanted vampires. The best way to ward off these pesky critters is by planting them around the perimeter of your field or garden. Canva Hatchet in the Soil Stops the Storm Stick an axe in the ground In times of perilous weather, a Texas legend suggests sticking an axe in the ground to curb the impending storm.

Lore has it that the act will split the cloud and prevent the downpour. Photo by: Rudy Fernandez / Canva Buzzards and Wild Back Cats On The Farm Or The Ranch Its part of Texas lore, that if a wild black cat or a buzzards shadow crosses your path, youre destined to have bad luck for the day. Photo by Christian Englmeier / Unsplash / Brass Cowbell Outwit witches with a brass cowbell An old legend says that if you cross a witch, she may get revenge by making your milk cows go dry. Superstitious farmers protected their cattle by tying a brass cowbell around their milk cows neck. Photo by: Rudy Fernandez / Canva Ants are getting ready for bad weather When ants in the yard start building a higher than normal mound around their main entrance, they are preparing for bad weather. So, get ready for some flooding to happen. Never set sail when theres a circle around the moon Whether youre on the lake or on the ocean if you ever see a circle around the Moon do not set sail. Have you ever heard of the red sky at dawn? Sailors And fishermen heed this warning; red sky at night, sailors delight, but on the Texas Gulf Coast fishermen used to look to the moon for guidance and protection. When the circle around the moon is there it means, bad weather is coming.

Photo by: Cy Lindberg / Unsplash / Rope Keep rattlesnakes away with horse hair rope Nothing gives a trail rider more grief than a rattlesnake slithering into your bedroll. Back in the old west men and women would take their coiled up rope made of horse hair and lay it around the camp area. The horse hair was believed to keep rattlesnakes away and all kinds of snakes. too Photo by: Cynthia Beilmann / Unsplash Never kill a horned lizard As the Texas legend or rather the superstition has it, if you kill a horned lizard aka Horned-toad you better not own any milk cows. As the story goes killing such a creature will cause all your dairy cows to go sour and dry up and will only produce bloodied milk. Photo by: Joshua J. Cotten / Unsplash Beware of the Redheaded Woodpecker In Texas superstitions, theres a whole list of creatures that carry bad omens. But perhaps the most ominous of all, is the redheaded woodpecker. Its said that if a redhead woodpecker appears on your roof of a house and or barn, a family member will die. Photo by: Christian Bass / Unsplash NEVER point at a grave or headstone Never point at a headstone or a grave. Here in Texas if you ever find yourself near a graveyard, folks may warn you not to gesture toward the headstones.

Its believed that pointing at a grave will cause your finger to rot and fall off. The Most Embarrassing Public Figures in Texas Since 2022 The top 10 biggest losers in Texas over the past three years. Gallery Credit: Chrissy YouTube, Via FOX 26 Houston Greg Abbott - Governor of Texas Greg Abbott has been criticized across the state for Texass failing power grid, anti-LGBTQ+ laws, and ridiculous immigration stunts, like busing migrants elsewhere, book bans, and ultra-restrictive abortion laws. Hes also acting like a complete baffoon right now over the democrats who fled the state in a redistricting stand-off. Hes a sore loser and is more than willing to cheat the system to get his way. YouTube, Via Joel Osteen Joel Osteen - Megachurch Pastor, Lakewood Church (Houston) Joel Osteen has always been a swindler. Hes especially frowned upon for using Jesus to fund his lavish lifestyle. In 2021, a plumber even found bags of cash hidden in his church walls. Oh, and then there was that whole not-gonna-let-people-in-my-church-until-they-suffer-a-bit-longer attitude he displayed in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in 2017. Id trust the Devil before I trusted Joel. YouTube, Via ThriveTime Show Clay Clark - ReAwaken America Tour Organizer Clark is the leading conspiracy-driven, Christian nationalist in Texas right now.

His ReAwaken America Tour even series features harmful anti-vax, QAnon, and election denial rhetoric. Hes partnered up with a slew of other slimy and controversial pastors, preying on people instead of praying with people. If God lets this guy in, Id rather skip out on the whole heaven thing. No thanks. YouTube, Via CBS News Ken Paxton - Texas Attorney General Clark is the leading conspiracy-driven, Christian nationalist in Texas right now. No thanks. YouTube, Via Real Time With Bill Maher Elon Musk - Tech Billionaire, Now Based in Texas Musk moved Teslas headquarters to Texas and is now living in the Austin area. His erratic behavior, dismantling Twitter/X , labor issues with his new Texas facilities, and promotion of ridiculous conspiracies landed him on the list of Texass biggest losers. YouTube, Via Mattydubs The Dallas Cowboys Musk moved Teslas headquarters to Texas and is now living in the Austin area.

His erratic behavior, dismantling Twitter/X , labor issues with his new Texas facilities, and promotion of ridiculous conspiracies landed him on the list of Texass biggest losers. YouTube, Via WFAA Dan Patrick - Texas Lt. Governor I had to do a double-take when I found the photo for this image. The lighting, camera angle, and content were just too close to SNL. I thought it was a spoof! But, alas, its the real deal. The photo is from a YouTube video of Patrick dramatically throwing a THC product in a press conference surrounded by other out-of-touch cronies, who have perpetuated the narrative that pot is dangerous for far too long. Thats not the only reason he sucks. Hes also constantly pushing Christian nationalist policies and calling for school censorship . Hes one of the most disgusting, ignorant, and divisive human beings on the planet. Where is Batman when we really need him? YouTube, Via HBO Alex Jones - Conspiracy King (Professional Lawsuit Magnet) The InfoWars host and crazy far-right conspiracy theorist has spent the past 3 years doing nothing but losing, hard. He claimed the Sandy Hook massacre was a hoax and was ordered to pay almost $1.5 billion in damages to their families.

He continues to rant online, but people with credibility dont pay attention anymore, and thats definitely a good thing. Hes nuttier than a squirrel turd. He filed for bankruptcy . Good riddance. YouTube, Via Senator Ted Cruz Ted Cruz - U.S. Senator from Texas I dont even want to get into why Ted Cruz is a loser. We all know by now. But, if you are new to the table, Cruz is still making headlines for grandstanding, drama on Twitter/X and for making ridiculously polarizing comments. Im convinced hes a robot, and youll never change my mind. He makes Texas look worse and worse to the rest of the world each time he opens his mouth. YouTube, Via Allen B. West Allen West - Former Texas GOP Chair West lost his 2022 run against Abbott, and Im not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing. They are both just about as twisted as they come. West is known for pushing election denial, anti-vax sentiments, and extreme-right rhetoric that makes you wonder what f*cking year it is. I fully believe that if we keep putting people like this guy in charge of stuff, women will suddenly lose pockets on their jeans, or perhaps, the ability to wear pants altogether. Its that level of stupidity, guys. LOSER.
